Our MG Story…

Welcome to Mingle Grove!

Hello… my name is George and I am the founder of Mingle Grove.

I am excited to tell you about this special place for getting together online, better known now as ‘MG’. It’s meant to be much more than just a dating site; it is created to be a community, built on genuine connections and real-life interactions.

Let me take you through my journey and the reasons behind building Mingle Grove…

(No, not our team, but I wish)

Our Story: The Heart of Mingle Grove

Mingle Grove was founded with a simple yet powerful belief: dating should be a comfortable, authentic, and community-driven experience for everyone, regardless of age. We recognize that each stage of life brings its own unique challenges and preferences when it comes to forming relationships, and we’re here to support you through them all.

Our platform is designed to meet you where you are, offering a tailored approach that fits your pace and comfort level. Our goal: “Bringing people together… meaningful, local, and genuine”. Whether you’re just beginning to explore the dating world or seeking new connections later in life, Mingle Grove provides a space where you can connect with others in a way that feels natural and relaxed.

At the core of Mingle Grove are our Groups—both online and in person—that make it easy to meet new people in your local area. Our online video gatherings allow you to get to know others from the comfort of your own home, while our encouraged in-person meetings at local parks, breweries or events offer a casual, friendly environment to interact face-to-face. These group settings ensure that you’re always part of a supportive community, helping you build connections at your own pace.

Mingle Grove isn’t just about dating; it’s about fostering genuine relationships within your community. By bringing people together in a safe, welcoming space, we make it easier for you to find meaningful connections that fit your lifestyle and stage of life. Join us at Mingle Grove, where dating is all about real people, real connections, and real community.

Creating Mingle Grove

Early Lessons in Empathy

My story starts in a small, cozy home in Coquille, Oregon with my mom and siblings. My loving mother was a single parent, and from her, I learned about resilience, strength, and the challenges that women often face. These early lessons in empathy and respect have stayed with me and greatly influenced how I view relationships.

In college, an intriguing, hippy professor introduced me to new ways of connecting with people. We would engage in exercises that focused on present-moment awareness and honest communication. This experience was a revelation to me, highlighting the warm feeling you get from genuine interaction with others. It made me realize how much depth and connection we miss in our everyday conversations.

The Turning Point

After college, I ventured into the world of technology and computers. After my second marriage ended, online dating was just starting. I would have sworn they made this service just for me! I could meet a girl without going to a bar!

While the convenience of meeting people online intrigued me, I quickly noticed some issues – superficial connections and a general lack of depth in connection, among others. Many women I met shared their discomfort with dating sites and their desire for a more personal and emotional way to meet people. These stories drove my intent to create something better.

Creating Mingle Grove

That’s how Mingle Grove was born. I wanted to build a space that wasn’t just about swiping left or right but about forming meaningful relationships. At Mingle Grove, our online neighborhood is designed to help our members find local, in-person interactions in a genuine, meaningful and friendly environment. It’s about letting you get to know the person behind the profile, sharing experiences and building connections that go beyond the screen that can then help you feel more comfortable and confident getting together in person.

Central to Mingle Grove’s approach are our Groups—whether online or in person—that simplify meeting new people in your community. With online video chats, you can comfortably connect with others from home, while our impromptu, in-person meetups encouraged at local parks, breweries, or events provide a relaxed, social atmosphere for face-to-face interaction. These group environments create a welcoming space where you can take your time, building relationships within a supportive community.

Our community is designed to be inclusive and welcoming, where everyone can feel comfortable being themselves. Whether you’re looking for a romantic partner or just someone to share activities with, Mingle Grove is a good place to start. We strive to make every interaction meaningful and ensure that all members feel valued and respected.

Why Join Mingle Grove?

I invite you, especially if you’re a woman looking for a genuine community, to join Mingle Grove. Here, every member is important, and every story counts. We’re dedicated to creating a platform where you can meet like-minded individuals in a respectful and engaging setting.

At Mingle Grove, we believe in the power of connection. It’s not just about finding a date; it’s about finding people you can truly connect with, share moments with, and perhaps, form lasting relationships.

George lives in Portland overlooking our beautiful city and mountains. Born in Oregon, he chose this special place to start MG. "Oregon has always been a leader in innovation and slightly rebellious ideas. And Oregon people are typically friendly and real... that is what we want you to feel at MG."
